We are currently looking for companies who would be interested in touring a piece of work with us during Puppet Animation Festival 2018.
Puppet Animation Festival tours a programme of children’s puppet theatre, visual theatre, animated film and workshops to audiences, aged 0-12, all over Scotland. The festival takes place across the country, from the Highlands to the Borders, the Islands and Central Belt! We come to a range of venues including traditional theatres, community or village halls and classrooms.
If you create work or workshops for children using puppetry, object manipulation, visual theatre or animation, let us know, we’d love to talk to you.
We are particularly interested in programming work that caters for Scotland’s diverse communities and children and work which encourages equality and environmental awareness.
In the first instance, if you are interested in taking part, we ask that you get in touch with Jen White, Festivals & Projects Manager, via email.
When emailing please include the following information:
- Tour pack for the production/film including basic technical requirements
- Short Biography of the artist/company
- Links to website and previous work
- Video footage of the proposed production/film via vimeo link
Puppet Animation Festival is a rural touring festival and with this in mind, has particular stipulations for participating artists regarding technical requirements, company size and transport. Once we has discussed the suitability of your proposed production or film, you will be issued with an application form.
Once we have received all of the applications, we choose a programme of around 20 productions, films and workshops and create a production pack. This production pack is then circulated to our network of Scottish venues who, in collaboration with Puppet Animation Scotland, request particular productions to be a part of their programme.
Once venues have confirmed their programme, the companies will be provided with their tour schedules. We aim to provide all productions with at least 3 performance opportunities.
The deadline for applications is Friday 11 August. All applicants will be contacted by Friday 25 August to let them know whether they have been successful or not. The production pack will circulate Scottish venues from September – November with companies being provided their tour dates by the end of the year.
Puppet Animation Scotland has produced Puppet Animation festival since 1984 and in 2017 it will be its 34rd incarnation. Please contact email@example.com for more information or call our office – 0131 560 1298.
