She threw a stone at the sun…everything went dark…

An intriguing modern day fairy-tale about a girl who throws a stone at the sun and knocks it out of the sky. Meet the legendary Bird King, the West Coast’s terrifying Lighthouse Lady and the wise Giant Sloth, as we journey across the planet on a quest to piece the sun back together again before the earth is changed forever.

Exploring environmental issues, the overcoming of our fears and the recognition of our self worth, A Stone’s Throw blends shadow puppetry, live music, innovative movement and storytelling with Giddy Aunt’s trademark dark humour and witty style. Formed in 2011, Giddy Aunt is a Glasgow-based theatre company, presenting its work at the Imaginate Festival, Pulse, the BAC and Solas Festival.

Proof that children’s theatre needn’t be showy and hammy to captivate and inspire small people, and that it can tackle larger issues such as self-worth, responsibility and even environmental sustainability in a way that is neither preachy nor patronising…(but) simply but eloquently, with beautiful results.
