dino-22

Weaving their way through the audience as they look for clues about the past, the Dinosaur Detectives discover a secret doorway, through which they find a number of intriguing cases containing the stories of the people who in Victorian times first discovered dinosaur bones.

Uncovering the fascinating stories surrounding the fossil finds of amateur archaeologists Mary Anning, William Buckland and Gideon Mantell, and how their discoveries changed our understanding of the origins of our world, the Dinosaur Detectives use rod puppets, shadow play and large-scale projections to show us the fascination and the conflicts of ideas and theories which surrounded those early searches for dinosaurs. At the end of each performance audiences are invited to handle fossils, including real bones and dinosaur poo!

Established in 1987, Clydebuilt is one of Scotland’s leading touring puppet companies, working extensively throughout the UK as well as performing in China, Germany and the Middle East.
