puppets 001

While seeking his fortune Fingal thinks his luck is in when his old tired horse is replaced by a magic one. This new steed takes him on a magical adventure to meet a Prince who then sends him on a number of quests to win the heart of a Princess. But who will win her love in the end? And what will become of the magic horse?

In this storytelling show with audience involvement, performed in a colourful, vivid and textured cloth setting of patchwork trees, fields and sky, children become courtiers, mountains and magnificent castles, as puppets move through human forests and snapping crocodile waters in front of a constantly changing shadow theatre backdrop.

Founded in 1997 to re-tell stories from Scotland’s rich and large heritage of fairy and folk tales using puppetry, storytelling and shadow theatre, Yugen Puppet Theatre has specialised in creating high quality, small scale touring puppetry productions which have been enjoyed by audiences throughout the UK.

Alison Monaghan is most skilled at making her puppets live with her charming and imaginative productions.
